Valentine Tomin ran a successful marketing business for 30 years and his key roll is in the development of the business proposition and making the business sustainable. Having produced charcoal for a decade on a small scale for personal use, Val was able to make the step up to batch production creating a local artisanal business. As the owner of site where the business operates from; including half a mile of riverbank and associated acre of land, he is passionate about the environment and managing the resources on a eco-friendly and sustainable basis.

Steve Kitchner. An engineer and fabricator extraordinaire, Steve plays key role in coming up with ideas and developing the charcoal making process. Having spent most of his life working in and out of agricultural locally, he will use his agricultural and forest husbandry skills to make sure OVC has a continuing supply of raw materials.
